The circle has long been a shape and a motif that symbolizes unity wholeness infinity and perfection. It represents human and natural life cycles as a continual shape with no beginning or end and appears in the imagery across all cultures often holding sacred significance. In my own work it has historically been a decorative feature showing up to create the illusion of light and stardust as clusters of pointillistic color to create texture and to bring a magical or ethereal quality. The pieces in this collection are abstractions of circles that appear as sections and segments of the representational work that I do. They are both extensions of it and connected to it through color shape and motif.
